Finding a right photographer

Finding a right photographer is very important.  If you have an opportunity to visit a local Wedding Fayre I highly recommend it.  Meeting few photographers on the same day will give you a chance to compare quality, style and personality of different wedding photographers.  In the modern wedding industry there is a huge variety of photographers, a lot of them with their own style, different experience and backgrounds.  Some photographers will do weddings as a sideline mainly specialising in other types of photography.  Be aware photographing buildings, dishes or sunsets do not require people skills, quick thinking and design skills.  At the Wedding Fayres you will meet photographers that mostly specialize in wedding photography.

It is important that you get on with the photographer after all she / he will be with you most of the day.

Every venue will have a list of the preferred suppliers. It could be a good source of information to help you choose a reliable supplier.

Most of the photographers will belong to one of three professional organisations such as SWPP – the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, BIPP – British Institute of Professional Photography or the MPA – Master Photographers Association. You can find a list of the qualified members on their websites.
